Zidane will send Madrid to create history in the King’s Cup

As one of the teams that carries high targets every season, Real Madrid never underestimate the competitions they enter, including the King’s Cup or the Copa Del Rey. In fact, ahead of the round of 16 midweek tomorrow, coach Zinedine Zidane is determined to bring his troops to make history at the annual event.

For information, Real Madrid managed to secure a place in the last 16 of the Copa Del Rey this season. In that round, they will face Real Zaragoza at the La Romareda stadium on Thursday morning (30/01). This classic duel will determine the second step of the team to the next round.

Previously, Los Blancos managed to win with a landslide score of 3-1 over Uniositas, the Spanish second division club. Unlike the previous opponents, Real Zaragoza is one of the big clubs in his era. But in recent years, the direction of Victor Fernandes’s squad still seems difficult to return to the stage on the Spanish La Liga stage.

Even so, they have a neat record ahead of the match against Real Madrid. In fact, Real Zaragoza are unbeaten in their last five league matches. Meanwhile, Zinedine Zidane’s troops are known to be in a positive trend. So, beating Real Madrid will be a daunting task for the host.

On paper, Real Madrid is clearly superior. However, Zinedine Zidane was reluctant to fall asleep with this fact. He still looked seriously at the match later for the sake of ambition to make history as the team that won the most Copa Del Rey.

“We want to make history in the Copa Del Rey. I think our motivation is high. Madrid has won the Copa del Rey 13 times, we always respect the competition that we follow,” Zidane was quoted as saying by Marca.

Furthermore, the Frenchman claimed to have good news about the condition of Belgian winger Eden Hazard. The 28-year-old star has improved, but Zidane was reluctant to reduce it in the match against Real Zaragoza later.

“We will see this week how the recovery process is,” he said.

Earlier this week, Real Madrid managed to coup Barcelona from the top of the standings thanks to Real Valladolid’s victory.
