Zidane: Real Madrid still not at its fullest

Real Madrid is still unable to show a consistent performance at the start of this season. Even last weekend they were surprisingly defeated 0-1 from La Liga Promotion team, Cadiz.

Los Blancos’ performance looked very disappointing in that match. Despite dominating possession with a ratio of 75: 25, the fact is that Zidane’s troops only fired 2 shots on target.

However, neither of the two shots resulted in a goal, while Cadiz managed to score one and kept their lead until the end of the match.

While overall, Real Madrid only scored six goals in five La Liga matches this season. That said, this is proof that Real Madrid needs a sharp striker who is strong in scoring goals.

Zidane did not deny this opinion at all, but he felt that it was not only Real Madrid who had difficulty being consistent at the start of this season.

The tactician only hopes that defeat to Cadiz can motivate his players to win in the next two matches, including against Barcelona on the weekend.

“I think we deserve the criticism as was circulating after the defeat. But now is our chance to turn things around. Hopefully you will see a different Real Madrid.” Zidane said on the official RealMadrid website.

Furthermore, Zidane admitted that he still believed in the performance of his players, now it only takes time to find consistency and be at the best level again.

“I think, whenever things go difficult, this team has proven to be able to get up and prove itself. It is true that there are moments in the season when our performance has declined,”

“Yesterday we could have played better and I’m sure we can do better.” continued Zidane.

Indeed, there are several clubs that seem to have difficulty achieving maximum results at the start of this season. There are many reasons for this, including the short pre-season time due to the Corona pandemic which caused last season’s competition to stop.

But whatever it is, the demands from the fans of course don’t change, they just want to see Los Blancos win at the end of the season.
