Zidane perplexed by the sudden injury crisis at Real Madrid
The list of injured players in the Real Madrid squad is currently growing, which of course this situation is not easy for Los Blancos. In fact, coach Zinedine Zidane himself felt confused when asked about the situation.
The last time Real Madrid played was against Valencia in the Spanish La Liga continued on Sunday (14/02) yesterday. Indeed, in this match Madrid, who acted as the host, won 2-0.
But on the one hand the victory also had to be paid handsomely with the injury of the mainstay defender, Dani Carvajal. The Spaniard could only appear for 30 minutes before being pulled off with a knee injury.
Carvajal’s condition clearly adds to the long list of injuries for Los Blancos players, because previously the team had been abandoned by Sergio Ramos, Eden Hazard, Marcelo, to Eder Militao and Federico Valverde who were still sidelined due to injuries as well.
Coach Zinedine Zidane could not say much, he was both surprised and anxious about this condition, especially when Dani Carvajal himself is one of the players he really counts on.
“I don’t understand. There are a lot of injuries, I’m worried. When I lose a player, as a coach it bothers me a lot. It’s a recurring injury.”
“I apologize to Carva. He played for 25 minutes very well and I am disappointed, because he is very important for us,” said Zidane as quoted by Goal International.
The Frenchman could not say what was behind the hurricane of injury, as was Carvajal’s condition, which remains unclear.
“I can’t explain the reason to you. As a coach, having injured players is the worst thing. They could come back and hurt us again,”
“I just hope that it is only a minor problem. We will see what the injury looks like and how long he will be out,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos itself is currently ranked 2nd in the La Liga standings with five points behind the top, Atletico Madrid.
