Wow! Lewis Hamilton has equalled Michael Schumacher’s record
Lewis Hamilton finally managed to lock the title in the 2020 Formula 1 season after winning the Turkish Grand Prix last weekend. The title, of course, feels special, because the person concerned automatically equals the legend’s record, Michael Schumacher.
The Turkish GP which took place at the Istanbul Circuit was actually tinged with unfriendly weather. Heavy rain flushed the entire track, making it difficult for the racers to focus.
Hamilton himself had difficulty improving his position, but since the middle of the race, he managed to reclaim the pole position and keep it to the finish line.
With Valtero Bottas’ failure to reach the finish line, Hamilton was automatically not overtaken for the rest of this season’s races and finally became Formula 1 champion.
With his success this season, this Mercedes racer has collected 7 world titles which means the same as the record of Ferrari legend, Michael Schumacher.
No doubt Hamilton is proud of this special achievement, and he thanks everyone who has supported him over the years.
“I am speechless. I have to thank my team who are here and at headquarters, and all those who gave me this opportunity.”
“I wouldn’t have been able to do it if I didn’t join this team. Our adventure is amazing, I am very proud. Thanks also to my family, “said Hamilton via Diario AS.
Furthermore, Hamilton revealed that this achievement was his dream since he was a child, but he did not expect to match the record of a legendary racer like Schumacher.
Therefore, he asked the children to dream of becoming what they want to be.
“I’ve dreamed of all this since I was little, but this is even more than all my dreams.”
“It’s very important for little children to see this: don’t let other people tell you that you can’t do it, instead dream of impossible things, work hard, don’t doubt yourself,” he concluded.
As for now, Lewis Hamilton’s future is still a question mark. He is still 35 years old, but so far there are still no signs of a contract extension from Mercedes.
