With Mourinho, Tottenham Hotspur will be successful next season
Despite failing to give maximum results in his first season, Jose Mourinho is considered by Luka Modric to bring Tottenham Hotspur back to where it should be in the upcoming 2020/21 season.
As is known, the Portuguese coach was appointed manager of Tottenham Hotspur since December 2019, replacing Pochettino who was kicked out due to a series of bad results.
Together with The Special One, there is no visible progress in the performance of the North London club. They failed to penetrate the Champions League zone and only finished sixth in the final standings.
While Luka Modric himself is a former Tottenham Hotspur star who has played under Mourinho, he knows both parties well.
According to him, the success of the Spurs to climb to sixth position is not an easy matter. In other words, for him Jose Mourinho has done a good job, even though he only arrived in the middle of the season.
Now, the former Chelsea coach is preparing for his first full season as Tottenham coach. That’s why the midfielder who is now defending Real Madrid believes that Spurs will achieve maximum results at the end of the season.
“I have special feelings for him, for everything he did to me. Tottenham have made the right decision by appointing him as coach, because he has proven to be the winner.”
“In Italy, in England and in Spain, he won a lot and he knows how to win the finger. I also hope he can do the same with the Spurs,” Modric told The Times.
He has absolutely no doubt that the 57-year-old tactician is one of the guarantees of winning a football club. This has already appeared when he was concerned with handling the previous clubs.
“It’s amazing that Tottenham has managed to get a coach like him. He’s been a champion everywhere. Even when people say: ‘Ah, he didn’t win at Manchester United’. He actually won the Europa League and other trophies because of his quality.”
“He knows how to channel energy to the players. If I have to mention one thing [that makes the difference], it is how he prepares for the match,” he said.
