After winning the French Open, Rafael Nadal has now collected 20 titles in the Grand Slam event, the same as Roger Federer’s score. Related to this, Federer did not hesitate to congratulate the tennis player from Spain.

As is known, Rafael Nadal managed to become the champion of the 2020 French Open or the French Open after going through a fierce final match against Novak Djokovic.

The match which took place last Sunday (11/10) ended with a score of 6-0, 6-2 and 7-5.

With this victory, Rafael Nadal has automatically collected 13 titles in the French open arena. The man from Spain really dominates in this event, where not a single player can collect that many titles in one Grand Slam event.

Meanwhile, in total, Nadal has collected no less than 20 Grand Slam titles, with 7 other titles coming from the Australian Open, Wimbledon Open and the US Open.

With a collection of 20 Grand Slam titles, this means that Rafael Nadal has managed to match the record for world number one Roger Federer.

Regarding the record that has been matched by Nadal, Federer did not hesitate to congratulate him. The hope is at the age of 39 he can still add to the title before retiring.

“I always have great respect for my friend Rafa (Nadal) as a person and as a champion, as my fierce rivals over the years, I believe we have pushed each other to be better players,”

“It is a true honor for me to congratulate him on his 20th Grand Slam victory. It’s great that he won the Roland Garros 13 times, which is the greatest achievement in sport,” Federer wrote on his personal Instagram account.

Furthermore, the man from Switzerland admitted that Nadal deserved the title at the French Open yesterday.

“I hope the 20th title will be a new start for both of us going forward. Amazing, Rafa. You deserve it.”

So far, only Novak Djokovic has come close to his second record, where the Serbian man has collected 17 Grand Slam titles.
