Win a landslide victory over Udinese, Juventus still needs improvement
Juventus won a landslide victory over Udinese in the Italian Serie A continued last weekend. However, this victory did not mean that Andrea Pirlo’s troops were perfect in terms of performance.
Previously, the Bianconneri had indeed swallowed a 0-3 defeat to Fiorentina in their last match in 2020 yesterday. The defeat was actually quite surprising, considering that Andrea Pirlo’s men had won four consecutive times before.
Then, the public thought that this defeat would make Cristiano Ronaldo et al return to a negative path, but in reality it was not the case.
When dealing with Udinese earlier in the morning (04/01), the Bianconneri successfully won with a landslide score of 4-1. Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals in that match, while the other two goals were scored by Paulo Dybala and Federico Chiesa.
Udinese itself was only able to reply with Marvin Zeegelaar’s only goal.
This victory over Udinese did look so good, but if you look at it at the start of the match Juventus had a hard time. This allows Rodrigo Bentancur to say that his team still needs improvement.
“We didn’t start the game with the right mentality, and conceded a goal, which luckily was ruled out for handball,”
“We got better after the break, deserved the win, but again our mentality dropped at the end of the game so we could concede the goal,” Bentancur told DAZN after the match.
The player from Uruguay considered that Juventus players had difficulty maintaining focus throughout the match against Udinese yesterday. Therefore he hopes that in the next matches, the players can really concentrate from the first minute until the end of the match.
“I think we have to maintain concentration for the full 90 minutes. We let Udinese create too many chances and that should not have happened.”
“I don’t care if I score a goal or not, I provided an assist tonight and it is as good as a goal, because I help the team.” he concluded.
However, this victory is still important and now the team will rest to prepare to face the leaders of the standings, AC Milan.
