Both Panama and Tunisia are out of FIFA World Cup 2018 tournament. They will be playing their last game of the tournament on June 28, after which they will head back home. The only purpose of this particular match is to save grace and exit without a loss.
Tunisia has never crossed the world cup group stage and if they win on Thursday, it will be their second win. Panama are the debutants and they would hope to get out after their first ever win. Panama seems to have the talent in them after they stopped USA from securing a place in Russia.
The way Tunisia lost to England and Belgium is far better than what Panama displayed on both the occasions that it got. As long as the Eagles of Carthage are determined and focused, there is no reason why they can’t register their second win at the world cup.
Panama are playing at the largest stage for the first time and it showed in their previous 2 matches. They looked very vulnerable but the match against Tunisia is not an uphill task and they should be aiming for a win.
Tunisia is actually way ahead of the Panamanians but with poor defense. So this match could well be a high scoring one. Both the countries would want to give their fans something to cheer about for some time. But the team which is more motivated to perform well on the day would emerge as a winner.
The 2 teams are facing each other for the first time at Mordovia arena and the disappointing factor for Canal Boys is that their defense was very poor, conceding more than 3 goals in 3 of their last 6 matches. Hope they do not repeat the same in this match too. Tunisia too were generous in giving away goals. Overall, they gave 7 goals in this tournament so far, which is a high number.
There is nothing in this face off of a match other than pride and reputation that needs to be salvaged. The motivation for Panama would be the first ever win in their debut world cup entry and Tunisia would like to add one more win to their already existing win in the world cups. At present, they look better equipped.
The two underdogs have to fight between themselves only to avoid landing at the lower most position in their group.
