As is known, early yesterday hrs (13/03) Chelsea had indeed announced that one of their players tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The player is Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Thus, it means that the 19-year-old figure became the first Premier League player to be confirmed positive for Corona Virus. Previously, there was another footballer who was confirmed, he was Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta.
Of course this news immediately shocked the universe of English football. This is proof that precautions must be increasingly stringent in order to prevent the worst possible in the future.
As for the announcement, the player finally spoke up. Through a video message that he uploaded on his social media account, Callum claimed to be in good condition. But indeed, he is currently following the procedures of the authorities to isolate themselves.
“Hello everyone, as you all know the last few days I have contracted the corona virus. I have followed the instructions from the authorities, and now I have isolated myself from others for one week.” Callum said.
Furthermore, the England striker was determined to recover quickly and meet again with the supporters and his team-mates and then play as usual.
“I hope to see you guys again, and I can play on the field again. Take care of yourself.” he said.
Meanwhile, the Premier League Authority itself immediately held an emergency meeting, shortly after Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta had tested positive for Coronavirus.
According to rumors, there is a possibility that the Premier League will be suspended due to this virus problem. There is also another possibility, that the competition will continue but without the presence of an audience.
Previously, the Italian Serie A first found two of their players who have been confirmed Corona Virus. Both are Daniele Rugani (Juventus) and Manolo Gabbiadini. Because of these two cases, the competition was finally suspended until next April.
