Valentino Rossi admits Qatar testing more difficult
Not only Fabio Quartararo who felt a different level of difficulty when diving the second season Pre Test at the Losail Circuit, Qatar. Senior driver, Valentino Rossi also felt that yesterday’s testing was more difficult than the first day.
As is known, Yamaha Energy Monster Rider, Valentino Rossi has indeed tried a new tire on his mount, Michelin in the MotoGP Pre-season 2020 Test. The racing test took place at the Losail Circuit, Qatar, last Sunday (23/02).
In these trials, there are some things that this Italian rider learned from his new ride. One of them is how the tires are used. In addition, the nine times world champion also tried several variations of modifications to his ride to find the ideal suit.
As a result, the former Ducati Corse racer completed 52 laps with the best time of 1 minute 54.740 seconds or 0.702 adrift of Fabio Quartararo, who was riding a Yamaha SRT Petronas motorbike. Feeling these results are less satisfactory, Rossi then determined to achieve better results in the third test.
“Today is more difficult than yesterday because I tried something to improve a number of areas such as braking. Unfortunately, we sacrifice other things.
Yesterday it also seemed that the tires could survive along the distance of the race, but today we have problems, so this is a more difficult day for me, “said Valentino Rossi, as reported by the official MotoGP website.
Furthermore, the 41-year-old Rider believes that the third day of pre-season trials at the Losail Circuit will be very important for the real race later. Therefore, the rider nicknamed The Doctor was determined to achieve better results on the third day.
“Tomorrow (today) is an important day because it is the last day of the winter test, so we have to summarize it. I think we did a good job, we tried everything, so let’s see tomorrow, “said Valentino Rossi.
Of course, riders will try as hard as possible to get the ideal suit for their mounts for the best results in the inaugural Series at the Losail Circuit early next March.
