This legend believes Thiago Alcantara will succeed at Liverpool
In his first season as a Liverpool player, Thiago Alcantara was criticized more than praised. However, one of the legends of the Marseyside Team, Harry Kewell, believes that the Spanish midfielder will be successful at Anfield.
As is known, Thiago Alcantara was recruited by Liverpool in the summer of 2020. Liverpool supporters are very excited about the player’s arrival, given his good reputation with Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Moreover, in his last season with Bayern Munich, he won the treble winner.
But unfortunately, from what has been seen until the end of the 2020/21 campaign, Thiago seems unable to meet public expectations.
More than that, the former Barca was even considered a burden on Liverpool’s midfield which led to criticism from a number of parties for the 29-year-old player.
Harry Kewell himself thinks that this is an adaptation process for THiago Alcantara because he has never before tasted the atmosphere and style of play in the Premier League.
The Liverpool legend from Australia even believes that once the adaptation process has passed, Thiago will become an important player in the Marseyside squad.
“I think Thiago Alcantara is one of the best players in the world. People may disagree with that, but I think he’s just trying a little too hard at the moment. ”
“The vision is brilliant, the distribution is good. He’s just adapting to the British way. After he did that, Liverpool had a phenomenal midfielder in their hands, “claims Kewell on Ladbrokes, via the Liverpool Echo.
Actually, not only fans or football observers were disappointed with Thiago Alcantara’s appearance, the player himself once admitted that his performance was quite disappointing.
“I know that I received some criticism about my performance, but I myself have not been happy with my performance since coming here,”
“A new club, a strange situation, I have a bad injury, so getting back to the usual rhythm is quite difficult, but that is no excuse,” said Thiago.
Of his 19 appearances this season, Thiago has not scored a goal or assist for Liverpool.
