This is the reasons of Liverpool’s defeat to Brighton according to Klopp
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp is reluctant to make excuses related to his team’s defeat to Brighton. The German coach admitted that the visitors deserved more, and the most important thing now is to know the cause of the defeat.
Liverpool hosted Brighton and Hove Albion in Week 22 of the Premier League, this Thursday morning WIB (04/02). In the duel at Anfield, Liverpool were surprisingly defeated with a final score of 0-1.
This defeat was clearly surprising, apart from the level difference between the two teams, Liverpool also played as the host plus they were in a positive trend after the wins over Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
After the end of the match, coach Jurgen Klopp also admitted that he was confused about why his players performed below standard, even though their abilities could be much better than that.
“It’s only been a few minutes after the game is over and my job is to find an explanation and to work with it afterwards. I know and you know very well these players can play much better.” said Klopp at Liverpoolfc.com.
The German coach, of course, cannot say that his players have no intention of playing, for that reason he needs to look into other possibilities.
“There could be two reasons. First, they don’t want to play, and I think you agree with me that is not possible. So why is our game not working? These are the things we have to find out.” added Klopp.
The former Borussia Dortmund coach then linked Alisson et al’s poor performance with the previous two matches against Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United which according to him was really draining mentally and physically.
So indirectly, Klopp considers his players to look tired after these two matches.
“We went to London, played, came home late, then the next day practiced a little bit and left for London again. Then came back and faced Brighton, who are obviously in good shape,”
“Now we only have one day to recover. We have often talked about this,” he concluded.
Whatever it is, it is clear that Liverpool must get up immediately because in the following week they will face Manchester City.
