It’s just a silly act actually carried out by a man from India named Viviek Salma. He took extreme precautions that were very far from the government’s appeal, namely by cutting his own tongue.
Like other Indians, Viviek is also frustrated by the lockdown rules set by the local government. In fact, the regulation itself is part of the government’s efforts to reduce the spread of the virus.
It’s just that on the one hand these rules make Viviek unable to work, no income, and he cannot return to his hometown. As a result, Viviek performs reckless actions by cutting his own tongue.
He believes his reckless actions were carried out as a form of offering to the gods. Or in other words, the act of cutting the tongue itself is believed to be able to prevent the virus.
Obviously, the reckless action made Viviek experience heavy bleeding, as a result he had to be rushed to the hospital. Responding to this, HD Parmar Police Inspector said that he still continued to explore the background of reckless actions by Viviek.
“For the past few days, he wants to return to his hometown in Madhya Pradesh, because this lockdown policy is not possible,” Parmar said, as reported by Metro.
Viviek himself is currently still in the hospital where he was treated. The doctors at the hospital kept trying to reconnect their tongues.
Maybe, now Viviek regretted his actions, because his actions took him to the hospital, where many positive Corona Virus patients were being treated.
