The football squad of France is a very skilled and competent team among all others. Under the able coaching of the national coach Didier Deschamps, the team has been on the right track since 2012, and they were the finalists of 2016 UEFA European Championship.
Interestingly this time, the coach has ignored 8 star players including Real Madrid Striker and a winger from Manchester United. They were excluded from the team due to various reasons like being involved in a sex tape scandal, going on a strike at a home club, unsatisfactory performance, etc.
The France team is abundant with players who are at their peak but still they hold no control over the game like how Germany and Brazil are able to hold their game together.
Antoine Griezmann at forward position is the mainstay striker of the team. He had maximum goals during 2018 Euro and thus he is in his best of form. He will be backed by Kylian Mbappe from Monaco and Alexandre Lacazette from Arsenal.
In most probability, the mid fielder role would be taken by Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, PSG’s Adrien Rabiot and NGolo Kante from Chelsea.
Laurent Koscielny is the strongest contender for the defense along with Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane. The absence of Benjamin Mendy owing to an injury has paved the way for Layvin Kurwaza (PSG) at left back and Samuel Umtiti from Barcelona, at right back. Djibril Sidibe, again from Monaco seems to be another good choice.
The goalies announced in the squad are Alphonse Areola, Steve Mandanda and Hugo L’loris, who is also the captain of a world cup team.
The other names to watch out for are Presnel Kimpembe, Christophe Jallet, Lucas Digne as defenders. The midfielders include Blaise Matuidi, Corentin Tolisso, Moussa Sissoko and Thomas Lemar. The other promising forwards are Olivier Giroud, Florian Thauvin, Nabil Fekir, Kingsley Coman, Anthony Martial.
The fans have to keep their eyes open for Mbappe who would have made his permanent deal with PSG complete and would account for a major chunk of performance in the team owing to his quick pace and tricks. Another forward from Barcelona, Ousman Dembele could make a name for himself when called for, though he might not start in all games.
The team will face Australia first and then they are up against Peru and Denmark, both of whom can cause serious concerns for the French squad. We have to wait till end of June to know the outcome.
