Tammy Abraham considered still have Chelsea future
One of the Chelsea legends, Floyd Hasselbaink fully supports Tammy Abraham even though the club has signed a young German striker, Timo Werner in the transfer market this summer.
As is known, the 22-year-old striker was indeed the mainstay of Chelsea in last season’s campaign. It could be said that he was quite successful in playing his role as a mainstay player for the new coach Frank Lampard.
Unfortunately, the club was not satisfied with the results they achieved last season. As a result, they improved the quality of the front line by recruiting new striker Timo Werner this summer.
The young German striker was redeemed from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig for more than 40 Million Euros. Obviously, Werner’s arrival brought trouble for Tammy Abraham.
But not so for Hasselbaink, he is still enthusiastic about the young Chelsea attackers including Tammy Abraham.
“I am very enthusiastic about Chelsea now, especially with the attackers they have,” Hasselbaink told Chelsea’s official website.
In fact, the arrival of Timo Werner in the squad can make Tammy Abraham’s quality increase and vice versa due to competition between the two players.
“Tammy and Werner are both improving some aspects of their current game.” He said.
According to reports heard, coach Frank Lampard would prefer Timo Werner to step down as the mainstay of this season. This also appeared in the match against Brighton last weekend.
However, Hasselbaink did not doubt the quality of Tammy Abraham. After all, the England player is still very young and has a long way to go to develop.
“Tammy is still very young so there are many things he can develop from his game. I am personally impressed by his movements, you can see his movements are much better than last season.” he said.
Even so, of course this situation is not good for Tammy Abraham because as a young player, his development is determined by the opportunity to play.
No wonder the player has recently been rumored to want to leave Chelsea. This news is further strengthened by the fact that he has rejected a new contract from Chelsea.
