Still not fully recovered, Morbidelli enthusiastic about back on track at the Styrian MotoGP
Petronas Yamaha SRT rider, Franco Morbidelli, emphasized that he is very ready to go back to the track in the 5th series at Styria tomorrow, even though his condition has not fully recovered.
The Italian racer had a terrible accident when he collided with Johann Zarco on the 2nd corner of the 9th lap at the Austrian GP last weekend.
Both of them fell in a way that looked terrible, even their motorbikes were completely destroyed, even almost hitting two other riders, Maverick Vinales and Valentino Rossi.
What is clear is that the great incident made the race temporarily stopped. Fortunately, neither Franco Morbidelli nor Johann Zarco suffered serious injuries.
After receiving the necessary treatment, Morbidelli immediately returned to his hometown to rest. His condition has not fully recovered.
“After the race, I returned to Italy to rest at home. I’ve been taking a break for the last few days and making sure I’m as prepared as possible for this weekend. ”
“I am grateful that I am fine and have not suffered serious injuries. The right side of my body still hurts, but it’s better than I thought after the accident, ”he said.
However, interestingly, Morbidelli is already very excited to play the 5th race of the season this weekend in Styria.
Not just racing, Morbidelli is determined to give good results in the next race because his team has worked hard to present a very friendly ride.
“I’m really looking forward to the start of the racing week and focus on racing again,”
“I want to see how I feel on the bike on Friday, but I’m sure I can be ready. I know maybe the weekend will be tough again, but I have to get as many points as possible. The team is working very hard to provide the best bike, and I want to achieve good results for them, “he said.
At the race in Austria yesterday, the Ducati Corse rider, Andrea Dovizioso managed to be the fastest, followed by Jack Miller.
In the standings, Franco Morbidelli is in the 8th place with 31 points so far.
