Still difficult to announce Rossi’s new contract at Misano
Yamaha Managing Director Lin Jarvis asked Rossi fans to be more patient regarding the new contract. According to him, it is not easy to announce this in the Misano series on 11 September.
As is known, The Doctor has indeed solidified his heart to continue racing next season with the Satelite team, Petronas Yamaha SRT. It’s just that there is still no official agreement announced.
According to information heard, this is because there are still a number of things to be agreed upon.
The public is then waiting for this agreement to be officially announced, especially the Rossi fans so that they can breathe a sigh of relief about the continued career of the idol on the track.
But unfortunately, Lin Jarvis cannot guarantee that the agreement will be delivered in the near future. In fact, there must be more meetings to be held between Rossi, YMR, and SRT along with Petronas.
“What hampers the situation is undoubtedly me. This is a very complicated process, because there are three parties involved, namely Vale who will continue to defend Yamaha, but will be placed in the Petronas team, with his sponsor.”
“So we need an agreement from three parties and this will take time,” said Jarvis after the Styria MotoGP race at the Red Bull Ring.
To be honest, Lin Jarvis also personally hopes that the deal can be announced when the series at Misano takes place. However, he cannot guarantee that everything will be completed within the next 2-3 weeks.
But what is clear is that developments regarding the agreement between Rossi and Petronas SRT will continue to be updated.
“I hope we can be ready to announce it at Misano, but realistically, it won’t be easy to make sure everything is ready in the next 2-3 weeks.”
“We will continue to provide updates, but everything is going well and we will make an announcement at the right time,” concluded the British man.
Rossi this season is still part of the Monster Energy Yamaha Team. He is currently ranked 7th in the standings with 45 points, or 25 behind the leader, Fabio Quartararo.
The second series at Jerez has been the only success for Rossi on the podium so far this season.
