Ronald Koeman very happy after seeing Barcelona record a “perfect start”
The new Barcelona coach, Ronald Koeman, looks so happy to see Messi and his friends achieve the perfect result at the start of this season.
Indeed, Barcelona won perfect results in their first two matches in the Spanish La Liga event this season. The Catalan giants did not just win streak in the two matches, but also did not concede a single goal.
First against Villarreal in the 3rd jornada of La Liga this season, Messi cs won by a landslide score of 4-0. After that, they traveled to Balaidos to fight host Celta Vigo.
Despite playing as a guest team, Barcelona won quickly through Ansu Fati’s goal. Towards the end of the first half, the Catalan giants lost Clement Lenglet who got a second yellow card.
However, Celta Vigo could not take advantage of this number of players. Precisely in the second half Barcelona with 10 players could add two more goals to ensure victory over the host.
Thus, Barcelona went through their first two matches this season with wins, 7 goals, and no conceding. This perfect start made coach Ronald Koeman proud.
“I am very proud of this team in this match. We worked very well and played with high team discipline, with one player less. We won even though we were one player less,” Ronald Koeman was quoted as saying by Marca.
It is clear that with the two consecutive wins, the Barcelona players’ confidence will revive after a bad season. Now, Koeman believes his squad is on the right track.
“We are doing well. These results convince us to think that we are on the right track,” he continued.
Furthermore, the former Dutch national team coach spoke about the second yellow card that Clement Lenglet received.
“You can debate whether it is a yellow card or not. It is a tough penalty. It is difficult to be a referee. It’s a decision that we do not need to discuss. It is more important to talk about how we play with one person less than that,” he said.
