It’s never easy to play for a club as big as Real Madrid, this has also been proven by many players, including the most recent one, Eden Hazard. The Belgian star again had to step aside due to the same problem, injury.
The former Chelsea star played only half an hour in last week’s match against Deportivo Alaves. Hazard was pulled out by Zidane because his physical condition did not allow him to continue playing.
Without Hazard’s presence, Los Blancos do look more difficult to dominate. In fact, in the end the match which took place at Estadio Alfredo di Stefano ended in a 1-2 defeat.
Madrid also had two goals behind before then Casemiro replied four minutes from the end of the game.
When talking about Eden Hazard’s condition after the match, manager Zinedine Zidane only hopes that the Belgian player does not suffer a serious injury.
“I thought and hoped that it was just a minor injury. I hope he does not experience muscle problems,” he told the media crew.
However, it seems that what Zidane said was reversed with the results of medical tests which showed that Hazard had a muscle injury. Unfortunately, Real Madrid did not say how long the midfielder would be out.
“Following tests held today on our player, Eden Hazard, by Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injured rectus femoris in his right leg,” read a club statement on its official website.
Indeed, the injury seems to have become a “partner” for Eden Hazard since his debut season at Real Madrid.
Since joining from Chelsea in the summer of 2020, he has only collected 22 appearances in all competitions due to injury problems.
Meanwhile, Hazard has only made three appearances with 153 minutes of playing time in La Liga this season. Hazard has also been criticized quite often for failing to bring out his best as at Chelsea.
Even though this was due to the successive injuries that have befallen him, the public’s expectations are not well conveyed. Moreover, Madrid have already spent 100 million euros to buy Hazard from Chelsea.
