Real Madrid confirms Nacho Fernandez tested positive for Covid-19
The spread of the Corona Virus among footballers is still rife, even recently there was one of Real Madrid’s mainstay players, Nacho Fernandez, who was reportedly positive for Covid-19. This news was later confirmed by Los Blancos.
Although a vaccine for the Corona Virus has indeed been found, the spread of this virus is still quite massive in various countries, including Spain.
Health is not a guarantee that someone will not be infected with this epidemic, as experienced by a number of footballers, of course, every week they always exercise and maintain their diet.
Back at Real Madrid, a few days ago Los Blancos confirmed that their coach, Zinedine Zidane was positive for Covid-19. As a result, Zidane could not be present to accompany Sergio Ramos cs in the match against Deportivo Alaves last weekend.
Interestingly, only a few days after the announcement, Real Madrid again announced that one of their players, Nacho Fernandez, was also positive for the Corona virus.
“Real Madrid is reporting that our player, Nacho Fernandez, has tested positive for Covid-19,” read an official statement from Real Madrid.
It should be noted, Nacho Fernandez did not participate in the Real Madrid squad for the match against Alcoyano in the Copa Del Rey event last midweek.
At that time, the player was required to undergo self-quarantine after making direct contact with a covid-19 patient. This independent isolation is indeed mandatory even though Nacho was tested the day before the match and the results were negative.
In addition, the full back also cannot play in the match against Deportivo Alaves because he is still waiting for the results of the second test, where the results this time show that Nacho is positive for Covid-19.
Thus, Nacho Fernandez became the 5th Real Madrid player to be infected with the Corona Virus. Previously there were Eder Militao, Eden Hazard, Casemiro, and Luka Jovic who tested positive for Covid-19, and coach Zinedine Zidane as a non-player.
With this, Nacho is likely to miss the next few matches, given that the self-quarantine process will last for 10 days.
Some matches that Nacho might miss include against Getafe, Huesca and Levante.
