RB Leipzig officially signed Justin Kluivert from AS Roma

German Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig took advantage of the last day of the transfer window this summer to land young Dutch winger Justin Kluivert. The former Ajax player was recruited from AS Roma on loan.

For information, Justin Kluivert himself is still very young, he is only 21 years old. Even so, the player is recognized as one of the talented players. He is the biological son of the Dutch football legend, Patrick Kluivert.

Justin is one of the outcomes of the Ajax Amsterdam academy and has led the Ajax U19 team to become the Eredivisie champion in 2016.

In short, the player does have good potential, it’s just that he is still unable to compete with AS Roma’s front lines last season.

Naturally, Justin didn’t think much about hearing an offer from RB Leipzig. Moreover, the Bundesliga club is known as a storehouse of potential young players.

“I am delighted that this transfer has been completed. RB Leipzig explained that this is the ideal place for me to develop and take the next step in my career, as well as help the team.”

“My aim is to get minutes to play here.” Kluivert said, quoted from the official Bundesliga website.

Meanwhile, Justin Kluivert started his career as a professional player since January 2017 with Ajax Amsterdam. In the 2016/17 season, he contributed to the success of the Dutch club in reaching the Europa League final.

In the summer of 2018, Justin Kluivert decided to leave for AS Roma. From a total of 68 appearances that have been played in all competitions, the player has recorded 9 goals and 10 assists for Gialorossi.

RB Leipzig admitted that they had long observed the winger’s development. Now they hope Justin will be the right addition to Julian Nagelsmann’s squad.

“We have followed Justin Kluivert for a long time and are now proud that he decided to come here, and because this transfer could be completed before the deadline,”

“Justin meets every player criteria we are looking for and fits the philosophy of football we want to play on the pitch,” said Leipzig sporting director Markus Krosche.
