Quartararo claims he isn’t the successor of Rossi

Fabio El Diablo Quartararo is confirmed to be the successor to Valentino Rossi in the Yamaha Energy Team squad for the upcoming 2021 season. However, the French rider insisted that he did not mean to be the successor of The Doctor.

Yamaha has indeed recruited Quartararo to become a tandem Maverick Vinales on the Yamaha Monster Energy Team next season. Of course, this is inseparable from the glorious performance throughout the 2019 season yesterday.

This agreement has been announced since last January and was welcomed positively by a number of parties including Valentino Rossi himself. But there are those who claim that Yamaha is too quick to make a decision, because Quartararo has not even won.

Related to this, El Diablo confirmed that his move to Yamaha’s Monster Energy Team was only to take over Rossi’s ride, not be his successor.

“Really, it feels strange to think about it. Two years ago, I didn’t even imagine that I would race in MotoGP, let alone get the chance to race with Vale and get a place in the manufacturer’s team,” Quartararo said, as quoted by Diario AS.

In fact, the French racer insists that Valentino Rossi has his own place in MotoGP, none of which can replace him.

“Vale is truly irreplaceable, the place is very unique. It can be said that I will take over the manufacturer’s motorcycle, but no one can take over the throne, “continued the French rider.

For information, the new MotoGP title this season will be held in July 2020 after being delayed quite long. Of course, Fabio Quartararo still has to play for the Yamaha SRT Petronas Team to complete this season.

The 21-year-old racer was determined to achieve the best results before parting with the Satellite team.

“I want to win the podium and win, but I must not think I have to win races or sit in certain ranks. This year, I can’t do unnecessary things.

If you don’t have the ability to win, then you won’t be able to aim for the title, “he concluded.
