Pjanic opens up after his debut with Barcelona

Serbian midfielder Miralem Pjanic finally played his debut match with his new club, Barcelona. So, what did the former AS Roma player say about his debut match?

As is known, Miralem Pjanic was brought in by Barcelona from Juventus this summer. He is part of an exchange agreement between the two clubs, whereby Juve are served by young Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo.

Since joining Camp Nou, Pjanic just got the chance to make his debut in the match against Elche on Sunday (20/09) yesterday. Even though it is not an official match, at least he has made his debut with the Catalan club.

At Juventus, the 30-year-old midfielder played in a style that was far different from that of Barcelona. Not only that, expectations at Barcelona were also higher than at Juventus.

No wonder the former AS Roma player admitted that his adaptation process in Barcelona was difficult, especially because of the impact of the Corona Virus Pandemic which made spectators unable to attend the party.

Apart from that series of facts, Pjanic admitted that he was quite satisfied with his debut match with Barcelona.

“It was a very special party, although I actually would have liked to have played with the support of the crowd. Everything went really fast. I just started training on my own last week.” So said Pjanic to Marca.

As for the match titled Trofeo Joan Gamper, Pjanic himself was only introduced in the second half by coach Ronald Koeman.

Pjanic felt that the Dutch coach gave him a lot of confidence because he was given the freedom to play.

“He gave me confidence and said that I was free to play,” continued Pjanic.

Furthermore, midfielder Servia admitted that the Barcelona players were ready to start the 2020/21 season campaign.

“Our team is really working hard and I am training hard to welcome the first match later. We are ready. Our team is doing well,” he concluded.

Barcelona itself will only play the first match of the 2020/21 Spanish La Liga season next week, to be precise on September 28. In this match, the Catalan giants will face Villarreal.
