Philippe Coutinho keeps quiet about his next move
In recent times, speculation has continued to echo the future of Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho. Will he return to Barcelona or leave the Premier League club as reported.
What is clear is that currently the Brazilian National Team player is preparing to play the Champions League final. Coutinho and Bayern Munich will face French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the top match which is planned to be held on Monday morning WIB (24/08).
Bayern Munich is indeed going smoothly in the European Champions League this season. Even though they had slumped and made a change of coach in mid-season, Die Roten unexpectedly won easily.
For example, when they faced Barcelona in the quarter-finals, Hansi Flick’s squad was able to win by a landslide score of 8-2. Two of the eight goals were scored by a player they borrowed from the Catalan giants, Philippe Coutinho.
Now, talking about Coutinho, the future of the Brazilian has been in discussion for the last few months. Lately he has continued to be linked with other European giants, one of which is Arsenal.
What is clear, Bayern Munich will not extend Coutinho’s loan or make it up permanently. Returning to Barcelona also doesn’t seem like a good option.
Regarding this, Coutinho chose to remain silent because currently his focus is the European Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
“My mind is completely focused on the competition. This is a unique opportunity for us,”
“I feel very happy to be in the Champions League final. Regarding the future, I have not thought about it because I only think about the final,” Coutinho told Esporte Interativo.
In the final round, the former Liverpool will face his former colleague Neymar.
“We (Neymar and I) have not spoken because of this match. I believe he is focused on his team, as well as me. PSG are a strong team with a fast attacking line.”
“I don’t even need to explain how great a player like Neymar is, because the whole world knows that. They also have a solid defense. This will be a good final,” he concluded.
