Every speculation has ended regarding the future of Andrea Dovizioso. After officially parting ways with Ducati at the end of this season, he is confirmed to be vacuum from the MotoGP event for the next year.
For information, the 34-year-old Rider still holds the current status of the Ducati Corse Team rider. However, his contract will end with the end of the 2020 season.
There is no agreement regarding a new contract, where Ducati has also recruited Jack Miller to be their rider next season. No wonder Dovizioso won’t defend Ducati again next season.
A number of teams began to be linked with the Italian racer, including the Aprilia Racing Gresini Team who lost Andrea Iannone following a doping case.
Unfortunately, no agreement was reached between Dovizioso and the Aprilia team. Reportedly, this was caused by the riders’ high demand for wages that the Aprilia Team could not fulfill.
No less interesting, the news after that said that Dovizioso would be their test rider. Uniquely, not only Aprilia was interested, but also Honda, Yamaha and KTM.
KTM In the end canceled recruiting Dovizioso as a test rider and will continue to employ their test rider this season, Dani Pedrosa. Meanwhile, the Honda Team has agreed to retain Stefan Bradl.
Yamaha itself was also linked with Dovizioso because there was news of a breakdown between the Tala Fork team and Jorge Lorenzo as their test rider this season.
However, Dovizioso decided to withdraw from any offer in MotoGP.
He also chose to go on hiatus for a year, which actually became hot gossip last June. It is not yet known what this 34-year-old rider will do in 2021, it is reported that he will consider a career at Motocross.
The news was officially conveyed by Dovizioso via his personal Instagram account. But what is clear, now the focus is still on achieving the best results in the remaining two series this season.
“Now I am focused on ending this season’s competition in the best possible way, and I have started developing several other projects with my partners.” Dovizioso said.
