Only Messi could be exchange for Lautaro Martinez
Former Inter Milan player Alessandro Altobelli advised his former club to hastily accept the offer of a player exchange with Barcelona for Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez.
Lautaro Martinez, 22, was bought from racing club in the summer transfer market in 2018. In just a short time, Lautaro Martinez managed to become a new idol for Camp Nou’s public through his neat performance.
Together with the club’s new striker, Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro formed a deadly duo in the Nerazzurri attack line. Just look at the statistics, where from 31 appearances in all competitions, this young Argentine star managed to pack 16 goals.
This impressive performance no doubt provoked the interest of a number of European giants including Barcelona. Catalan giants are believed to be very keen to get the service of the 22-year-old player. However, Altobelli advised Inter Milan not to rush off Lautaro.
“Lautaro is a child who has shown all his qualities and is still able to develop.”
“Inter must try to defend it at all costs, even though it does not seem to be the easiest thing to do because the club can pay for his release clause and defeat Inter,” Altobelli told CalcioMercato.it.
According to information circulating, Inter Milan have set a price of 111 million Euros as the official of Lautaro Martinez. The real figure is affordable for Barcelona, but they are reluctant to redeem it and offer a player exchange, plus some money.
Croatian National Team midfielder Ivan Rakitic is believed to be part of Barcelona’s bid for the transfer saga. But, according to Altobelli there is only one player who can be exchanged with Lautaro Martinez.
The player is none other than the Argentine mega star, Lionel Messi.
“It seems logical to me that Inter will not accept players from Barcelona. If they really want Lautaro, they must pay the release clause. If I trade Lautaro with a Barcelona player, I will only do that if it’s for Lionel Messi,” he said.
Of course, Messi is the best player in the world, and until now he is still a mainstay of Barcelona. So it seems that it will be difficult for the Catalan giants to release Messi to Inter Milan in the near future.
