Fabio Quartararo’s performance this season continues to receive praise, this makes the Principal Team Petronas Yamaha SRT Razlan Razali also happy. But on the one hand, according to him, this fact made Franco Mobdelli underestimated by the public.
It should be noted that Quartararo and Morbidelli began to team up on the Petronas Yamaha SRT Team since the 2019 season. Fabio Quartararo immediately appeared good in his debut season in the MotoGP event.
Indeed, the French rider was unable to win throughout the season, but he won seven podiums at the Grand Prix. As a result, that fact put Morbidelli under El Diablo’s shadow.
Especially at the same time, Morbidelli also experienced a podium famine.
The situation worsened at the start of this season, given that Quartararo had won successive wins in the first two series. But Morbidelli never gave up.
The results of his hard work finally paid off when the Czech series took place where the Italian Rider managed to become the second fastest. Meanwhile, in the next series at San Marino, Morbidelli actually won his first victory.
The 25-year-old rider even took pole in the Catalunya series last weekend.
Team Principal Petronas Yamaha SRT Razlan Razali is also pleased to see Morbidelli’s development so far.
“We are very happy to see the way Franky has developed himself in his second year with us. Sometimes he is unlucky, but once the situation is favorable, he really ‘flies’.”
“He continues to have good progress, and we are very happy that he got his first pole at Barcelona,” said Razali via Speedweek.
It’s just that, the fact that the public often underestimates Morbidelli is due to Quartararo’s performance that looks more classy.
“Franky is underestimated because of Fabio’s performance, even though he is clearly the more mature one. But due to his background with Honda, he needs time to get used to Yamaha.” Razali continued.
Apart from this, Razlan Razali said he was happy that his party had reached a new contract agreement with Morbidelli which means that next season he will team up with Valentino Rossi.
“However, we are happy to be able to extend the contract for another two years. We believe he can be more competitive and can achieve even better results when teaming up with Vale, “he said.
