Martin Odegaard officially returned to Real Madrid

After traveling on loan to several clubs, young Norwegian player Martin Odegaard has finally returned to Real Madrid this summer.

Odegaard joined Real Madrid in his very young age, although he still got the chance to debut with the first team.

However, given the fact that Real Madrid is a club that has great demands, giving opportunities to players who still lack experience like Odegaard is certainly full of consideration.

As a result, Los Blancos agreed to loan him to several clubs, from Heerenven, Vitesse Arnhem to Real Sociedad.

He joined the Spanish La Liga club since last summer and can be said to be doing well there.

Odegaard has bagged seven goals and nine assists throughout the 2019/20 season. In other words, at a very young age, Odegaard was deemed worthy of returning to Real Madrid.

Sure enough, Los Blancos finally repatriated Odegaard to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. The news was also confirmed by Real Sociedad.

“The left-hander left us to return to Real Madrid, but we will never forget everything that made us enjoy this unforgettable season,”

“Goals, play, character, effort and humility have made Martin remembered with great affection from the entire royal family. We wish you all the best for your future.” read a statement from Real Sociedad.

Odegaard also thanked the Real Sociedad supporters and of course the players and coaching staff who have supported him over the past year.

“All the affection on and on the pitch every day I will never forget. I want to thank the club for the trust it has placed in me, also to my teammates and staff who make me better,” he concluded.

Next season, Odegaard will face stiff competition in the Real Madrid squad. The club still relies on top players such as Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Casemiro and young star Federico Valverde.

Will, Odegaard be able to compete with these players?
