Marc Marquez finally starts his first physical training
The flagship rider of the Repsol Honda Team, Marc Marquez finally returned to training for the first time after a long streak of injuries. However, this first exercise is not training on a motorbike, but rather physical training in the gym.
As is known, the 27-year-old racer did find a fracture of the humeral bone when he fell in the first series of the 2020 season yesterday.
A platinum plate was attached to his arm, but his condition got even worse. The accident occurred when Marc Marquez was about to open the window of his house, which broke the plate on his arm. As a result, this 8-time World Champion underwent another operation.
The operation was indeed running smoothly, it’s just that Marc Marquez had to be sidelined for months until finally he couldn’t go down even in the 2020 season yesterday.
In November, Marquez considered a third operation, but with a different team of doctors handling. Hospital Ruber Internacional, Madrid, he chose to undergo bone graft surgery from his hip, and during his examination, Marquez’s arm was found to have an infection.
On December 3, then, the third operation was finally carried out, and the recovery process after this third operation took place quite quickly.
Honda Racing Corporation also stated that Marquez still had to continue his rehabilitation with specific antibiotic treatment, along with a functional recovery program tailored to his clinical situation.
But, it appears from his activities on social media, the 27-year-old man has started light physical exercise.
Through Instagram on Wednesday (20/1/2021), the eight-time world champion uploaded a photo of himself doing physical exercise using an indoor bicycle at the gym.
“First day of indoor bicycle practice!” wrote Marquez.
Indeed, the photo shows that Marc Marquez’s condition has improved, but it is still not known when Marquez will return.
What is clear is that the 2021 MotoGP pre-season trials will be held at the Losail Circuit, Qatar, on 6-7 and 10-March, while the opening series will be held at the end of March at the same circuit.
It is highly likely that Marc Marquez will return to the track at that time, and team up with his new colleague Pol Espargaro who replaces Alex Marquez.
