Marc Marquez determined to win title from Joan Mir next season
Repsol Honda’s flagship rider, Marc Marquez, seems eager to get back to paving in the upcoming MotoGP 2021 event. In fact, he is determined to reclaim the world title from Joan Mir.
Marc Marquez did experience an unfortunate fate in the 2020 season campaign yesterday. The Spanish rider only participated in one series, to be precise the first series in Jerez, and even then did not reach the finish line because of the accident.
As a result of the accident, Marc Marquez’s arm broke, forcing him to climb onto the operating table. His condition got worse after the plate that was attached to his arm was broken.
As a result, this eight-time world champion must be willing to miss the whole season, even the recovery process is still ongoing today.
So, without Marc Marquez, who won the 2020 season, the course of the competition looks difficult to predict. In fact, Joan Mir, who in the end managed to become champion, only won 1 victory, with 6 podiums among them.
“I do not completely understand. Even on the same track, week after week, the results of the races are completely different. This makes me want to come back quickly to understand what happened,” said Marc Marquez as quoted by Diario AS.
However, the Repsol Honda rider cannot deny the fact that Joan Mir was indeed the most consistent rider last season, so he is the most worthy of being a champion.
“Joan is the most consistent rider, and he’s the most worthy rider to be the world champion,” said the 27-year-old rider.
Obviously, in the upcoming 2021 season campaign, Joan Mir will try to defend the title. However, Marc Marquez insisted that he would not stand still and would fight to reclaim the world title.
“Joan will try to defend it because he has talent, and he has proven it. But I will certainly try to reclaim the title from him,” concluded Marquez.
Marquez himself recently underwent his third operation in the city of Madrid, Spain. The recovery process is still ongoing and it is hoped that it will be on time.
