Manchester United turns out to want Leonardo Bonucci
Italian National Team defender, Leonardo Bonucci has indeed officially returned to Juventus in the summer transfer window this year. But, there is interest from several European giants against thIS 30-year-old defender, including one of the Premier League giants, Manchester United. In fact, Bonucci is one of the Red Devils’ main targets.
Leonardo Bonucci left Juventus to AC Milan in the summer transfer window of 2017. After a season defending the Italian Serie A giants, then he decided to return to Turin after the exchange deal was reached with young Italian defender, Mattia Caldara from Juventus.
Meanwhile, Manchester United actually had been linked with a number of top defenders throughout the transfer market last summer. Most often, they are associated with England National Team defender Harry Maguire, but unfortunately, no agreement has been reached. In fact, Maguire was not Manchester United’s main target in this summer, but the Italian defender, Leonardo Bonucci.
As reported exclusively by The Sun, the Red Devils were revealed to have failed to bring Leonardo Bonucci from AC Milan in the summer market yesterday. Though Bonucci was named as the number one target of United manager, Jose Mourinho, to be made the general behind the 2018/19 season.
Manchester United are believed to be reluctant to pour money at AC Milan’s request, to release Bonucci. The main factor is the age of the defender who has been 31 years old. Manchester United’s management ultimately worsened the situation because it failed to bring another alternative in Harry Maguire, Diego Godin, Jerome Boateng and Toby Alderweireld.
According to news that was heard, Leonardo Bonucci refused to move to Manchester United, because he did not want to leave his family in Italy.
