Madrid won without Ramos and Benzema, this is Zidane’s response…
Real Madrid have proven that they are not a club that depends on just one or two players. In the match against Inter Milan, Los Blancos still won even though they played without Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema.
The Duel Matchdays for the 4th Group G Champions League took place on Thursday morning WIB (26/11) at San Siro.
Initially, it was doubtful that Real Madrid could win given the match at Inter Milan and the fact that they were missing several key players, including Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema.
However, the absence of these two players did not seem to affect the performance of Zinedine Zidane’s troops. The visitors even appeared to dominate from the first minute, especially in midfield.
In the end they managed to score two goals without reply, each through Eden Hazard’s penalty and Achraf Hakimi’s own goal.
Speaking after the match, Zidane could not say much about his team’s performance, but it is clear that these are three points which are crucial for Los Blancos given the poor results obtained in the previous 3 matches.
“It was a great performance. It’s 3 crucial points for us. This game is a final, as usual, and the team showed great spirit from start to finish, and never lost focus,”
“We deserved 3 points today, we know how important this match is. I’m not sure if this was our most complete performance, but obviously these are 3 important points.” So said Zidane on the official Real Madrid website.
However, Zidane chose to remain silent when asked if Real Madrid had done well even without the presence of Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema.
“Yesterday you [the media] asked me about our ability to win without Sergio, and we denied the allegations today. It was a fantastic performance from all the players,”
“Sergio is definitely excited to see the team play, Karim is the same. This is everyone’s hard work. We look good, full of enthusiasm, and play with our hearts. These are 3 crucial points for us and this is our path to keep growing,” he said.
