Lost Again, Here Is Jurgen Klopp’s Response
Coach Jurgen Klopp is speechless regarding the 6th consecutive home defeat suffered by his team. However, there is at least one flaw that he saw from his team in the duel against Fulham yesterday.
After the terrible home defeat to Chelsea, Liverpool are certainly determined to get up when they host Fulham in the Premier League continued last weekend (07/03).
Coach Jurgen Klopp rotated players in the match, most of the players were rested, while some were still sidelined due to injuries.
But the rotation decision actually made the Reds defense much more fragile, thus making Fulham more courageous in launching repeated attacks.
Until finally at the end of the first half, the visitors managed to score a goal through Mario Lemina, who changed the position to 0-1. Fulham’s advantage over the Reds lasted until the game ended.
For Liverpool, this defeat extends their negative period, in which the Reds have lost 6 games at home in a row, the record for most home defeats in the club’s history.
Not only that, the defeat to Fulham became the Reds’ fifth match without scoring goals against opponents in a row. The last time they scored against Leicester City, it ended in defeat.
After the match, coach Jurgen Klopp looked very disappointed, he could only criticize the performance of the Reds’ attacking line, which was unable to score until the game ended.
“There are times we can have more of an impact on the game. The goal conceded before the break was a big blow, ”
“We tried to react and the players showed that. In the end we didn’t score and that’s a big problem,” complained Klopp on Sky Sports.
Furthermore, the German coach praised Fulham’s performance in this match. According to him, Fulham has been looking good lately.
“Fulham will cause problems for us – that’s clear. They are in a good moment, they are a good team. We all agree that a team like this must stay in the Premier League, “he said.
This defeat sent the Reds to 8th place in the Premier League standings.
