Liverpool legend Suggest Anthony Martial Leave MU
A Liverpool legend, John Barnes, thinks Manchester United and Anthony Martial are no longer suitable, for this reason he suggested that French players should just move clubs, for their own good in the future.
Anthony Martial was once a public idol at Old Trafford, but this season he seems to be going through a negative period. The player who was bought from AS Monaco in 2016 has only scored 4 goals in 21 Premier League matches in the 2020/21 season.
On the one hand, coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not seem to be short of options on the front lines of his team, he has Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford and of course Mason Greenwood.
These players make Martial rarely get the chance to appear, especially if you look at his relatively ordinary performance.
Naturally, if John Barnes thinks Anthony Martial’s future will not be better if he stays at Old Trafford, for that he wants the player to be better off moving to another club.
“A lot of clubs today have a bench full of superstar players, who are happy to be there, but I don’t know if Martial is one of those players, or what Manchester United intend with him.”
“But I suggest the change could be good for him and the club if they don’t get what they want from him playing there,” Barnes said via BonusCodeBets, via Sportbible.
Before this, there was also an opinion from Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer who said that Anthony Martial would not be suitable to play as a center forward.
“He has been at this club for six years. Last season was his best season, but in six years he never scored more than 20 goals in the league in one season,”
“I don’t see that he has the hunger and desire to be a No. 9 player. He also doesn’t score many goals in that position,” he said.
Manchester United has recently been linked with one of Europe’s best young strikers, Erling Braut-Haaland.
