Liverpool do not have enough players for squad rotation

In recent weeks, Liverpool has become a sharp spotlight among football observers. How come? Jurgen Klopp’s men achieved some disappointing results. In fact, the Reds were Premier League champions in the 2019/20 season yesterday.

The most ironic thing was when they hosted Manchester City last weekend, where the Reds were beaten with a score of 1-4.

Indeed, it cannot be denied the fact that the club is experiencing a hurricane of injuries has limited Jurgen Klopp’s creativity. Several vital players such as Virgil Van Dijk have also been sidelined for a long time due to serious injuries.

However, there are many parties who criticize coach Jurgen Klopp for never rotating players. Indeed, their squad does not appear to have changed in the last 3 years.

As a result, because he relies on the same players, the tactician becomes in trouble when one of them is injured.

Regarding this, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher admits that he really understands Jurgen Klopp’s position, but he cannot say much because the Reds do not have a sufficient squad for the coach to rotate players.

“People say ‘Yes wrong Jurgen does not rotate players’. Actually Liverpool do not have the quality of the squad and cover like other clubs,” said Carragher to Sky Sports.

In fact, Carragher also believes that Liverpool will not be able to win the title in the last two years if they apply such player rotation.

“Liverpool will not win the trophy they have won in the last two or three years if they really rotate the squad.” He said.

Furthermore, Carragher also has the belief that Liverpool will soon get up and come back in the championship competition. However, he advised his former club to recruit at least three new quality players to coat the mainstay players.

“I still believe they will come back, but they need at least three new players. They need a center-back, they need a midfielder to replace Wijnaldum, and they need players in attack.”

“And I’m not talking about substitutes. I mean players like Salah, Van Dijk and Alisson. That’s what Liverpool need,” continued Carragher.
