Liverpool claimed more favored to win EPL rather than MU
It seems that Manchester United is indeed better than Liverpool so far this 2020/21 season has gone on, but Ally McCoist has the belief that about the chances of winning, Liverpool are more likely to win the Premier League.
Until week 22, Jurgen Klopp’s troops are still stuck in 4th place in the standings, where they have collected 40 points from 22 matches. Meanwhile, Manchester United are in 2nd place with a two-point advantage over the Reds.
Liverpool as the defending champions did look convincing at the start of this season, where Jurgen Klopp’s men managed to achieve a series of good results.
However, the situation seems to have changed with the injuries of several Liverpool defenders including Virgil Van Dijk.
Even so, Allys McCoist still believes that Liverpool have a bigger chance than Manchester United in the title race.
“I think they have a better chance of winning than United,” McCoist told talkSPORT.
McCoist even thought that in fact the only reason why Manchester United could beat Liverpool at this time was because of the hurricane of injuries that were beating on Jurgen Klopp’s men.
“We can say that Liverpool have had no luck with injuries this season and no one can argue with that. Alisson has been absent several times, while the absence of Van Dijk and Gomez has had a big impact on them.”
“Many forget that Jota has not been able to play these days either, even though he has played amazingly. They also lost Sadio Mane and some of their key players.” He said.
But it does not stop there, Allys McCoist does not consider Liverpool as the main candidate to win the Premier League title this season. According to him, Manchester City is still the most dominant team compared to other candidates.
“I think we all agree that City are a much stronger candidate for the championship this season. They’ve done an excellent job.” he said.
Well, interestingly there is an interesting duel that will be presented in Week 23 tomorrow, where Liverpool will host Manchester City. The super big match duel will take place at Anfield, on Sunday night WIB (07/02).
