Lin Jarvis hopes Rossi will not retiring soon

Valentino Rossi did open the option to hang a helmet or retiring in 2021, but Yamaha manager Lin Jarvis hopes the opposite. He felt the current situation was not the ideal time for The Doctor to leave the race track.

As is known, Valentino Rossi is certainly no longer a Yamaha Monster Energy rider Team next season, so his future is still a question mark. Rossi is currently being approached by the Yamaha satellite team, Petronas SRT, but once retired, it could still be the choice of The Doctor.

It’s just that the Corona Virus Pandemic has indeed delayed the MotoGP title this season, there were even eight first editions that had been postponed. The new Dorna Sports will hold the first series on July 19, 2020 at the Jerez Circuit, Spain.

Although it will roll again, MotoGP is not like previous seasons, because it will be held in a closed and the number of paddock is also minimized.

For this reason Yamaha manager Lin Jarvis considered that it was not ideal for Rossi to hang a helmet in the midst of a situation like this. He also hopes that The Doctor will keep racing in the upcoming 2021 season along with the Yamaha SRT Petronas Team.

“I cannot overtake this decision. I can only express my personal opinion about it. I hope that Valentino decides to continue racing. The thing is, I think this year with the COVID-19 problem

This would be the wrong time to end a legendary career like that. I believe Valentino feels the same way and therefore hopefully he wants to continue racing for another year. Jarvis said to Speedweek.

According to the information, the Italian racer has started talks with the Yamaha SRT Petronas team. However, so far no agreement has been reached between the two parties.

Regarding this, Lin Jarvis can ensure that an agreement will be reached immediately before the season starts again.

“Personally, I suspect many things will be clear before this year’s first race on July 19,” Jarvis said.
