Lewandowski still wants to play until the age of 40

One of Bayern Munich’s mainstay players, Rondowski still wants to play until the age of 40bert Lewandowski, admits that he is still reluctant to hang up his boots in the near future. The Polish player even plans to continue playing football until he is 40-years old.

Since 2014, Lewandowski has taken controversial steps in his career. He left the club that raised his name, Borussia Dortmund to join a rival club, Bayern Munich.

Maybe, this decision made Die Borussen fans felt hurt, but for the player this is the right step. Since then, he has scored many goals and helped his team to the Bundesliga title six times in-a-row.

Not only that, at the age of 32, Lewy is even sharper in front of the opponent’s goal. He managed to score 55 goals in 47 matches in all competitions last season.

With this contribution, Lewandowski successfully led Bayern Munich to win the German Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and European Champions League titles. He became the top scorer in the Champions League.

However, considering that the player is now 32 years old, the public is asking about his plans to retire. The person concerned himself admits that he will still play for the next eight years, aka until the age of 40.

“Maybe another eight years,” Lewandowski told Kicker.

Not only that, Lewandowski is also determined to continue to be Bayern Munich’s mainstay player for the rest of his career.

“Ending a career at Bayern is an option, for sure, but I still have many years ahead. I’m not thinking about hanging up my boots.”

“I don’t feel like I’m 32 years old. I actually feel better now than when I was 26. I worked specifically in the last few years to reach my optimal level.” He said.

Furthermore, Lewandowski seemed annoyed that he failed to win the European Golden Boot title. According to him, this competition is unfair, because the German Bundesliga only consists of 34 games.

“The competition will be fairer if everyone plays the same number of games. If we have 20 teams in the league, like in Italy, Spain, England or France, it will be more objective.” added Lewandowski.
