Koeman ensures Suarez is part of his plans for Barcelona
It seems that speculation of Luis Suarez’s move from Camp Nou this summer has been answered as new coach Ronald Koeman promises that the Uruguay striker will be part of his plans next season.
The future of some of Barcelona’s senior players was indeed a question when Koeman was appointed as Barcelona’s new coach a few months ago.
Well, Luis Suarez is one of the club’s senior players, he was also rumored to be on Barcelona’s selling list this summer.
Furthermore, speculation about Suarez’s future has given rise to several clubs of interest. The defending champions of Italian Serie A, Juventus are said to be a serious fan of the former Liverpool star.
Unfortunately, because of the quota problem for non-EU players, the Suarez-Cristiano Ronaldo duet will not be realized in the near future.
Apart from Juventus, there are also several teams that have been linked with the 33-year-old. However, on the one hand Barcelona is also said to be ready to defend Suarez for at least another season.
If he decided to stay, Suarez might spend his time on the bench, but this claim is denied by Ronald Koeman.
The Dutchman has confirmed that Suarez will still be part of his plans at the Catalan club.
“Suarez will be one of them if he stays. I have spoken with Luis this morning. We will see if there is a way out or not. We respect his contract,” said Koeman while talking to TV3 recently.
Actually, not only Suarez, whose future at Barcelona is a question mark, but also Philippe Coutinho who has just returned from a loan spell at Bayern Munich.
But Ronald Koeman indicated that the Brazilian playmaker was also part of his plans.
“He’s excited at the moment, training and playing well. He has good qualities. We have to remember that he needs support from the coach and fans as well,” he concluded.
Coutinho even played in a trial match against Girona at dawn WIB (17/09). The player scored one goal in the 3-1 win in that match.
