Juventus: Cristiano Ronaldo Is Not For Sale
Rumors of a planned sale of Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of the season have recently become a hot topic of conversation, but club sporting director Fabio Paratici has confirmed that this will not happen.
This issue actually stems from the failure of Juventus in the European Champions League. As is known, the Bianconneri failed to penetrate the quarter-finals after surprisingly losing to FC Porto in the last 16.
Actually, the aggregate from the two legs against the Portuguese representative ended in a 4-4 draw, but FC Porto had more right to advance to the quarter-finals because of the superior number of away goals.
Of course this failure made the Juventus fans feel very disappointed, especially since they have been dreaming of the European Champions League trophy for a long time.
No doubt, Cristiano Ronaldo became the target of public criticism, because he was considered the culprit of this failure. It can be said that since then, the issue that Juventus wants to release Ronaldo has emerged.
Ronaldo has even begun to be linked with a number of European giants, including the former club Manchester United, Real Madrid as well as the French Ligue 1 giant, Paris Saint-Germain.
However, the Bianconneri’s sporting director, Fabio Paratici denied these claims. He emphasized that this season’s failure was not fully delegated to Ronaldo, who had scored many goals for the team.
“Ronaldo won five Ballon d’Or, I don’t know how many Champions League. He won many trophies and scored so many goals at Juventus,”
“It is a privilege to have him here, we are happy to have him here. He certainly represents the future of Juventus,” Paratici told Sky Sport Italia.
In fact, the public doubted Juventus’ decision when recruiting Cristiano Ronaldo, considering that the Portuguese player is no longer young.
There are also those who say that Ronaldo made Juventus’ achievements decrease, because since his arrival, the club has never reached the European Champions League final again. However, paratici himself can only laugh at these claims.
“[The criticism] made me laugh. I never imagined that Ronaldo could be doubted,” said Paratici again, responding to the criticism that is often directed at Ronaldo.
