Jurgen Klopp reveals Virgil Van Dijk’s current condition

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has spoken about the current condition of one of his flagship players, Virgil Van Dijk, who has been injured for some time. So, is the condition getting better?

The Dutch National Team defender had a nightmare in October 2020. It was the game against Everton, and on replays, Van Dijk appeared to collide with the goalkeeper against Jordan Pickford.

As a result of the collision, Van Dijk was unable to continue the match, and after medical tests were carried out, the result was that he suffered a severe injury to his knee.

This injury is commonly known as the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), and it is not uncommon for the injury to keep him out of action for months.

When announcing Van Dijk’s condition, Liverpool could not reveal how long it would take the defender to recover from his injury. However, when it comes to prediction, it is predicted that the player will not be able to appear in the rest of the 2020/21 season.

Of course this is a loss for Liverpool who rely so heavily on Van Dijk in their back line. But apparently, the fans got a breath of fresh air about the player’s current condition.

Yes, it seems that Van Dijk can still follow a number of matches in the last weeks of the Premier League, as is the update on the latest conditions given by manager Jurgen Klopp.

“He looks really good. I spoke to him this morning on the phone, and he is in a good mood,”

“Everything looks promising, but I don’t know when he will come back. Obviously there are still a few more stages to pass,” Klopp said as quoted by Goal International.

Furthermore, this man from Germany admitted that he had suffered the same injury when he was still actively playing, so he knows exactly how Van Dijk is currently.

“I’ve had an injury like this before, so I know the feeling. But for now we are, and how long he has been out now, as well as his rehabilitation, he looks very, very promising,” he concluded.

But one thing is certain, Van Dijk will not play against Burnley this weekend.
