It’s normal if Quartararo cannot talk much in MotoGP
Johann Stigefelt, as Director of the Petronas Yamaha SRT Team, installed his body in connection with the criticism that Fabio Quartararo received regarding the rider’s performance in the previous 2020 season.
As is known, Fabio Quartararo was predicted to be a strong contender at the 2020 MotoGP event yesterday after registering 7 podiums in the 2019 season.
Indeed, at first the French rider looked very convincing because he collected three wins and even led the standings in the first nine series.
But in the end, the rider nicknamed El Diablo was thrown to 8th place in the season-ending standings following the inconsistent performance he showed in the rest of the series.
This performance clearly makes Quartararo in the spotlight in the upcoming 2021 campaign, especially considering the fact that he will be part of the Monster Energy Yamaha factory team.
However, Johann Stigefelt tried to install a body related to Quartararo’s performance last season. According to him, it is natural when young riders with minimal experience like El Diablo have not been able to speak much in the MotoGP arena.
“The situation is not easy for Fabio when riding a factory bike, as we can see. He is not ‘complete’. There are moments where he loses his sense of comfort and things like this can indeed lead to confidence problems,” said Stigefelt.
Furthermore, according to the man from Sweden, Quartararo also often gets emotional when he finds results that do not match his expectations.
“At this level of performance, doubts about Fabio shouldn’t be that easy. Fabio is still young, he still doesn’t have much experience. So, it’s logical that there are some things he hasn’t mastered. Sometimes he’s still a bit emotional,” continued ‘ Stiggy ‘.
It should be noted, starting from the next 2021 season, Quartararo will become a partner for Maverick Vinales on the Monster Energy Yamaha Team to replace Valentino Rossi.
Meanwhile, The Doctor has agreed to move to the Satellite team, Petronas SRT and meet up with his foster son Franco Morbidelli. Interestingly, Morbidelli, who did not get the latest spec motorbike last season, was even able to finish as runner-up in the final standings.
