Hazard responds to his poor performance in debut season with Madrid
Belgian star, Eden Hazard cannot deny the fact that his performances were not satisfying for fans in his debut season with Real Madrid. However, the ex-Chelsea is optimistic he can perform as expected in his second season later.
Hazard himself joined Chelsea in the summer transfer market in 2019 yesterday. Based on information heard, the former Lille player was redeemed through a 100 million Euro transfer value. With numbers of that size, of course expectations of the player are also high.
Moreover, Hazard performed brilliantly during the last few seasons at Chelsea. Being on the one hand, Los Blancos need a sharp striker after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo a year earlier.
Hopefully, Fans want Hazard to become the new Cristiano Ronaldo. But instead of performing brilliantly, Hazard actually could only contribute one goal and five assists from 15 appearances in all competitions this season.
These statistics are clearly still far from the expectations that Real Madrid wants. The player admitted it, even in spite of the fact that he had suffered two different injuries since he was close to the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, Hazard considered it an adaptation process because it was only the first season. He was also very confident that he could perform as expected in the upcoming 2020/21 season.
“My first season in Madrid was bad, but it wasn’t all bad. This is the season of adaptation. I will only be judged in the second season. Depending on how I give a slick performance next year. ”
“Our team is good, I met a lot of new people. For me, this is an amazing experience. I am still bound to a four-year contract again, hopefully I can be in the best condition, “Hazard said to RTBF via Goal International.
The Spanish La Liga competition is currently vacuum. The Corona Virus pandemic forced the highest competition in the country of Matador to be delayed until an undetermined deadline. This instruction also came from the local government, following the spread of the epidemic.
Real Madrid also requires its players to perform independent Quarantine, including Eden Hazard. However, the Belgian player is currently undergoing post-injury recovery.
