Gareth Bale Wins Again, Mourinho Teases Real Madrid
Tottenham Hotspur coach Jose Mourinho did not hesitate to insinuate his former club, Real Madrid regarding Gareth Bale’s performance, who has returned to grim in recent weeks.
As we know, the Welsh National Team Winger finally joined Tottenham Hotspur in the transfer market last summer on loan. Of course, this move has to do with the player’s previous situation at Real Madrid.
Bale is expected to be able to perform again brilliantly like his previous period at Tottenham, but at the start of the season his performance looks normal.
In fact, throughout the first half of this season, the 31-year-old player can only score four goals and only three assists in all competitions. However, its performance seems to have improved sharply since the beginning of February until now.
Bale is getting better at Tottenham Hotpsur, and proven by notching four goals and three assists in the last five games. Most recently, he scored two goals plus one assist in the duel against Burnley in the Premier League last weekend.
Of course, coach Jose Mourinho was asked about the Gareth Bale phenomenon, how could the winger initially appear sluggish but now a flood of praise. Well, interestingly The Special One even insinuated the player’s club of origin, Real Madrid.
“Over the last few years, he got what he has got at Real Madrid. Maybe you should ask them,”
“When you get a response from them, you will probably understand why it took him so long to be fit for us,” said Mourinho as quoted by LiveSoccer TV.
As for Real Madrid, Bale’s performance is not bad, he has scored 105 goals since joining in 2013 before being loaned to Tottenham.
However, for some reason Julen Lopetegui, Santiago Solari and especially Zinedine Zidane were reluctant to give Bale the opportunity to play regularly.
“Maybe patience is the main thing we need to see Gareth reach that level in the last two weeks,” concluded Mourinho.
