MotoGP mourns, one of the MotoGP legends and also the manager of the Gresini Racing Team, Fausto Gresini, Gresini Racing confirmed the death of Fausto Gresini on last Tuesday (23/02).
We all know that Fausto Gresini is a MotoGP legend, he won the GP125 in 1985 and 1987. Meanwhile currently, he works as amanager of the Gresini Racing Team.
Fausto Gresini has been infected Covid-19 virus since last December 2020, precisely after he celebrating Christmas. His condition being unstable since then, but in the fact, Fausto Gresini was confirmed negative.
However, in the past week, the 60-year-old man’s condition has worsened and he has entered a critical period. But on last Monday (22/02), several Italian media reported that Gresini had died, but this news was denied by the Gresin racing team.
Ironically, on a day later on Tuesday (23/02), the MotoGP legend actually passed away, where this news was later confirmed by the Gresini Racing Team.
“This news in a news we never wanted to announce. but unfortunately we are forced to share it with all of you. After two months of fighting Covid-19, Fausto Gresini has passed away, a few days after his 60th birthday. #CiaoFausto,” read the statement. Gresini Racing via Twitter.
Gresini was born on January 23th, 1961. He started his racing since 1978, he was 17 years old at that time. After five years, finally Gresini renounce Grand Prix class, GP125.
In his debute race at the Grand Prix, Gresini immediately won the second podium at Anderstorp Circuit, Sweden.
In the following season, Gresini collected three podiums and one win, making him end the season in third place. In 1985, together with Garelli, Gresini successfully collected eight podiums, three of which were victories, automatically making him the world champion.

In the 1986 season he failed to defend the title, but in the following season, the legend managed to win 10 wins from 11 races that took place and won the championship trophy again.
In 1994, Gresini decided to hang up his helmet, then in 1997 he formed his own team with the name Gresini Racing, where he also worked as a team manager.
