Failed to win this season, Fabio Quartararo reluctant to feel frustrated

The failure to become world champion in the 2020 MotoGP season might make Fabio Quartararo feel disappointed, but the Petronas Yamaha SRT Team rider is reluctant to feel frustrated and plans to use it as a lesson for the future.

The race for the 2020 MotoGP season has ended in the Valencia Series last weekend. Joan Mir, who finished in 7th position, won the title, because his rivals did not catch up with one race remaining.

Yes, Joan Mir’s closest rivals even won bad results at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit last weekend. For example Fabio Quartaro, who failed to reach the finish line after falling on lap nine at turn 6.

Quartararo himself admitted that his performance at the Valencia GP last weekend was very bad.

“Today we lost, but it all started a long time ago. We have lost a lot of points for a long time, both from my own mistakes and technical problems. Unfortunately I can’t do anything today, I don’t have a good rhythm,” he said via

This Petronas Yamaha SRT Team rider said that he was too determined to achieve good results and maintain his chances of winning this season, so the opposite happened.

“I was too persistent, felt we could be better than just finishing 10th, to the point of making a lot of mistakes. We have to reflect. This experience will be good for the future, although it is difficult to accept today,” he said.

Quartararo from France is clearly disappointed, acknowledging his weak points this season. However, he was reluctant to continue moping and look to the future with more learning.

“It is true that we could have done better, and forced the fight to happen at Portimao. But we did not perform well. Now I’m trying to end the season in a good mood, I’m still motivated,” continued Quartararo.

Sitting in 5th place in the standings, Quartararo will still undergo one more race, to be precise at the Portuguese GP on 20-22 November 2020.
