Dovizioso absent in the 2021 MotoGP, this is Marc Marquez’s comment…

Marc Marquez, Rider of the Repsol Honda Team, admitted that he was quite surprised by Andrea Dovizioso’s decision to vacuum in the upcoming MotoGP 2021 event.

In 2020, the former Ducati rider is one of the figures at the center of attention. How come? In August, it was confirmed that Dovizioso would no longer cooperate with Ducati after a new contract agreement was not reached.

Regarding his future, after that he had a confusion, some say that the 34-year-old man will consider the option to become a Yamaha or Honda test rider.

However, in November, the Italian man announced that he had rejected all offers to become a test rider for any manufacturer. Even more excited, Dovizioso admitted that he would be vacuumed in the MotoGP 2021 event.

In his explanation at that time, Dovizioso planned to be vacuum for only one year, with the hope of returning to racing in the 2022 season.

Of course, in terms of potential, there is no doubt that Andrea Dovizioso, including Marc Marquez, as the eight-time world champion. However, what made the Repsol Honda Team rider doubtful was Dovi’s opportunity to return to smoke in the 2021 season.

The reason is, it is never easy for a rider to go through a vacuum without becoming a test rider.

“It feels unbelievable. Dovi has had three years in a row fighting for the world title,”

“Dovi’s decision to vacuum is very surprising, because it will not be easy to return to MotoGP after a year, especially without being a test rider,” said Marquez as quoted by Corsedimoto.

Of course being absent for a season without even racing will affect Dovizioso’s performance later. Moreover, according to Marc Marquez, there are many riders from Moto2 who can actually compete in the Grand Prix event.

“In addition, a new generation is arriving from Moto2, almost all of the riders in the top 10 of MotoGP this year come from the new generation. I myself thought that I was the greatest, but in fact life continues,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Marc Marquez himself only played once in the MotoGP 2020 event yesterday due to a fracture of the humerus.
