Before experiencing success as it is today, Juventus had gone through bitter times, including one when the Calciopoli scandal stirred the football universe.
Precisely in 2007, Juventus along with several other clubs were given severe sanctions because they were found to be involved in fixing. Bianconneri get the most severe sanctions, in addition to losing 3 Scudetto titles, they were also thrown into Italian Serie B.
After being officially declared relegated, Juventus were abandoned by 7 of their players. They are Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Emerson, Gianlucca Zambrotta, Patrick Vieira, Adrian Mutu, Fabio Cannavaro and Lilian Thuram.
So, what will happen to the seven players after leaving the Old Lady?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic surprisingly immediately received a proposal from rival club, Inter Milan. The career of the Swedish player along with Nerazzuri is quite successful. He then moved to Barcelona, then returned to Italy with AC Milan.
While Emerson followed in the footsteps of Fabio Capello who decided to move to Real Madrid. Unfortunately, his career at the Spanish La Liga Club was not so good, he was rarely played and eventually left.
Unlike Emerson, Zambrotta actually joined Barcelona. Although different, the fate of the two players is the same, both failed with his new club. The only trophy achieved by Zambrotta with Barca is Supercopa de Espana.
While midfielder Patrick Viera followed in the footsteps of Ibrahimovic joining Inter Milan. Too bad, his fate is not the same as Ibra. During his four seasons defending the Nerazzurri, Vieira rarely got the chance to appear.
The situation has been more difficult since the arrival of Jose Mourinho. In the end he decided to move to Manchester City, playing for 18 months with the Premier League club.
Many do not remember that Adrian Mutu was a former Juventus player, it was because of the success he had recorded with Fiorentina. Together with La Viola, Mutu recorded 112 appearances and 54 goals in between.
Not only Emerson who followed Capello’s footsteps to Real Madrid, but there was also Fabio Cannavaro. But unlike the Brazilian midfielder, the former Italian national team defender was recorded quite successful with Los Blancos.
While Lillian Thuram who joined with Zambrotta to Barcelona also failed with his new club.
