Defeated by Lazio again, Sarri refused to blame Trio HDR
Once again, Juventus must recognize the superiority of Lazio, this time Bianconneri surrendered in the hands of the capital club in the Italian Super Cup match, on Sunday night yesterday (22/12). In fact, in the match, the Trio HDR (Higuain, Dybala and Ronaldo) appeared since the first minute. But manager Maurizio Sarri was reluctant to blame those three players.
As is known, Juventus are indeed dealing with Lazio in the European Super Cup. Of course, the squad directed by Mauruzio Sarri was determined to win the match. In addition to the aim of winning the trophy, they also want revenge for the defeat of the Capital Club at the previous meeting in the Italian Serie A.
Unfortunately, in the end the Bianconeri acknowledged the might of Lazio after surrendering with a landslide score of 1-3. The series of goals from Luis Alberto, Senad Lulic and Danilo Cataldi could only be returned by Paulo Dybala at the end of the first half. In fact, Juventus have lowered their best squad when facing Lazio.
In fact, Maurizio Sarri re-deployed his trio, Gonzalo Higuain, Paulo Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo, known as the Trio HDR. However, the trio of Juventus mainstay strikers actually had difficulty dismantling Lazio’s back line. In fact, Higuain was replaced by Aaron Ramsey in the second round of the match.
So, does the manager feel sorry that he has lowered the HDR Trio from the start? Especially before he had said that the three players could not continue to be deployed together. However, the former Chelsea coach admitted he did not regret it at all. He was also reluctant to blame the Trio HDR for the defeat suffered by Juventus.
“We did not lose because of the trio of attacking lines, because we conceded goals (second and third) shortly after I fielded a midfielder (Ramsey for Higuain),” Sarri said as reported by Soccerway.
On the Italian Serie A stage, Juventus are still in second place in the standings, only behind goal difference from Inter Milan at the top. Sarri ensured that the failure in the Italian Super Cup would not affect the performance of his players on the League stage.
“I have a positive record against Lazio, and I don’t think the players will be affected by these two matches. As I said before the match, I don’t think this final could affect the next five months in the league championship.”
