Former England national team player, Stan Collymore suggested Kevin de Bruyne to leave Manchester City. Not only that, he also advised the Belgian player to join Liverpool.
Indeed, the former Chelsea player is one of the main pillars of Manchester City. That said, he was the motor of attack for Pep Guardiola’s team and was the source of the club’s creativity in midfield.
His contribution to Manchester City is very good, not only contributing many assists, but also many goals in all competitions.
In fact, despite failing to bring City to retain the Premier League title this season, De Bruyne is still selected as the best player this season.
It’s just that individual achievements are not good enough for De Bruyne, especially if you look at the fact that Pep Guardiola’s club is still having trouble competing in the European Champions League. This season, their steps were stopped by Lyon in the quarter-finals.
Because of these basics, Stan Collymore suggested that De Bruyne should move clubs.
“Kevin De Bruyne deserves to be fully crowned PFA Player of the Year – he has become the Mr. Consistency at high level,”
“But it makes me wonder: Isn’t it time for him to test himself at Real Madrid, in rejuvenated Barcelona or – this one to put the cat among the pigeons – Liverpool?” he wrote in the Mirror.
Furthermore, Collymore believes that de Bruyne will fit perfectly into Liverpool’s game scheme. His presence will bring Jurgen Klopp’s troops to continue to increase the number of trophies in the next few years.
“De Bruyne will be a perfect match for Liverpool. He can come in and run a midfield that already has all the attributes to get the best out of him. ”
“He can make them a really great team, which has won a lot of Premier League titles and the Champions League,” he said.
De Bruyne himself is currently under contract at Manchester City until 2023. But of course his move to Liverpool is very likely to come true, especially as he grew as a fan of the Marseyside team.
